After spending nearly 20 years in the corporate hamster wheel, it was time to change course and walk a less unconventional path in life.
At the end of the Covid-19 pandemic it was decided to settle down in Finnish Lapland, partly due to family reasons but mainly because of the beautiful nature, the peace and quietness, clean air and the fact that nature dictates the pace of life instead of the corporate calendar.
The beauty of having had the opportunity to live and work in 10 different countries was the creation of an expansive international network providing different perspectives of work and life. Still being passionate about certain aspects of corporate life, especially related to finance business partnering, employee engagement and energy and performance management, an opportunity presented itself to provide training support and advice to a former employer.
This led to the establishment of a limited liability company The Real Team Oy in August 2021 with its official seat in Rovaniemi, Finland.
In recent years, the company has provided advisory services (onsite and offsite) to several teams in different multinational companies.
Simultaneously, the company diversified, offering services to support the local tourist industry as well as ventured into niche real estate services.
The destination might be unknown, but the journey that was started in the summer of 2021 ignited a spark that slowly guides us to our Northern Star.
Rogier Thuijs - Founder and Consultant
Rogier (born in 1978 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands) has over 20 years of international experience within the fields of financial management, strategic planning, performance management, process design, outsourcing, people management and energy management.
He has held senior management positions in very large, multinational organizations across Europe, Africa, North America and Asia Pacific. He has incorporated his proven executive experience into an engaging and active advisory approach, igniting a spark with leadership teams to motivate and engage authentically with their teams to deliver the goals and results for the people and the organization.
His interests cover primarily business finance, logistics and transportation, automotive, travel, human resources, as well as other service oriented industries and he is a keen advocate of investing in and harvesting from the four sources of personal energy to be(come) the best version of yourself.
Rogier holds a double bachelor degree in Business Administration from Hogeschool Holland in Diemen, The Netherlands and Mercuria Business School in Vantaa, Finland.
